A year has passed since the end of the Civil War, and the armies of the united states and the confederate states have been fighting each other. Many of the former incarnates remain in the northern part of the country, and if the confederate forces were to attack the northern capital, it would be a devastating attack. The northern capital is surrounded by mountains, so the northern troops have to fight their way through the mountains to reach it. The north also has to fight a war with the new nation of patria, which is led by the son of the current president. The soldiers of the "grace" unit continue to amaze the rest of the army. They have taken many of the incarnate soldiers, but they have not yet reached the capital. This is a major setback for the new mission, because they are to fight the main forces before they reach the capital
