Car asks if they have to fight the monster. Car says that the monster has avoided populated areas for so long that they've abandoned their human forms to do so. He says that in peacetime, humanity is more important than ever, and the only way to preserve it is to destroy it. The only way they can do that is to deny him what he wants, and that's why they're going after him now. Car tells us that he has a signal to kill the monster, but the monster refuses to listen to him. He tells Car that once the war is over, the monster will be able to go back and see the damage it has done to the world. Car wonders if the rail-baron was behind the attack, but he can't remember. They've also found a man who matches the description of the man they found, and he's a friend of the monster's. Car asks a girl if she'd like to join them, and she says yes.
