The scene opens with yue jin and his wife zhuo-yue standing in front of a statue of the goddess of spring. yueyuejin tells his wife that the statue is a symbol of love, and that two people will fall in love forever. He tells her that he is afraid that yuejin is trying to fool him, but she assures him that there is plenty of spring air, water, flowers, food, bright moon, stars and delicious food in the world. She tells him that she does not like being called "honey" by men, but that she prefers to be called a "little bird" who deserves to be danced for. She says that since she has many annoying habits, she still allows her to be with him. She asks him if he thinks she is a loser, and he replies that she is. He says that he likes to see people suffering, so he knows that he will eventually be in love with her. He asks her if she thinks he can see through her, and she says that she has heard what he has said. She then tells him to treat her like a child, so that she will not cause any trouble. She also tells him not to feel sorry for him, because she knows that when he tries to steal her, he will set her free from her mother's control. He then tells her to let him pluck fruit and dance for her.
