This chapter opens in a secret room at the palace. It's a painting of the goddess li zhu, the goddess of spring. The painting reminds us that the goddess is a goddess in the mortal world, but she's also a goddess of the devil world. The demon king is trying to convince the goddess that he was in love with her in the previous life. She's thrilled to see him, and she tells him that she has an army of her own to protect him from the demon king. She says that if the demon tries to treat her like his former lover, she'll tell him that he's wasting his time. She also says that the demon is blocking all of his energy, and that he intends to keep her locked in the palace until he dies. She asks the demon to take her out of the palace so that she can tell him what she knows.
