This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between the demon king and the king's servant. The servant tells the king that the two have been quarreling and that the king is going to look for his lost love. The king asks the servant where he is going and the servant tells him that he will soon be leaving the demon realm and going to the "mortal realm" to seek out his lover. The master tells the servant that he has seen the king be merciless and cruel, but he has never seen him so brutal. He also tells the master that two weeks ago, some of the other sect leaders and the law officials came to visit him and he will not accept any visitors today. He says that his spirit energy is nearly recovered, but that he still does not know how to use it to gain power in the heavens. He asks the master to send him some more soup, and the master tells him to take a moment and rest, as he has been cooped up in his room for days and has not seen him around. He adds that he hasn't heard from the king for several days, and he wonders if the king has something to do with him. He wonders if he has an internal demon, and wonders if it's cute to be an evil beast. He then asks the king to let him die. He wants to find the king and comfort him.
