In this chapter, we learn that the primordial spirit that was left behind in the lantern has gone to the underworld. The Panda expresses his anger at the fact that the world wants him dead. He says that he has tried many ways to purify the seal, and finally found that he could purify it with his power. He wonders why the world would want him dead when they want him to live. He asks the Panda to show him the body he has prepared for him while the chicken sleeps.
