This chapter opens with a soliloquy by the demon noble who purchased the image pearl from the demon king. He explains that he bought the pearl off a demon who had fled the devil realm. He says that the image inside the pearl does not look like the image on the outside, but rather the images inside look carefully. He asks the others if the scene is true, and they all agree that it is. He also says that he has not bowed to anyone, and that his dignity remains intact. The demon noble has not been accused of having philandered with the king, he says. The fact that the sect has occupied the spirit of the peak for so long does not bode well for the cultivation world. Everyone should stay together, says the noble. He tells the others that they have all planned the scene, and he urges them to rip the tension out of the room with a knife. He then tells them that he will be coming for them, and asks if they want to return to the kunwu mountain. They both agree that they will never go back to the mountain, but he tells them not to be afraid, because he does not know if he will survive long enough to fight the demon lord. He adds that the protective array on the peak will be gone when he dies, and the lord will be able to escape. The noble asks the master what he is talking about. The master tells him that he is begging for mercy, because there are two demon beasts in the peak now.
