He also wonders whether foreigners kiss their lips on the way to their destinations. He wonders if they kiss on the mouth, and if it is on the cheek. He is excited about the upcoming trip to the three-star French restaurant, where he will be able to smoke and eat curry with his bare hands. He feels sorry for Jellyby, who looks like she has been kept in a book, and he wonders if she is in love with another man.
