About This Chapter

The protagonist asks if it is garbage, and the sisters reply, "Oh, you stole their trash . ." The protagonist then asks if he can go to the bazaar with the sisters. He wants to ask the people of the neighborhood to donate their clothes for the bazaar. He asks them to put one of the shirts in every mailbox. He tells them that he does not get rich people, but he wants to tell them that a lady on British Hill gave them to him. He then asks how much the blouse is and how much it is made of silk. He says that he will name the blouse "ling ling" , which means "little girl." He asks the shopkeepers to sell the blouse for five dollars. The shopkeepers reply that they need to close the cloth-making shop because they do not have enough time to do so, but the protagonist reminds them that they might not always have nice trash for them to collect. He shows them a billboard advertising a brand owned by one of his brothers from the orphanage.
