In this chapter, we learn that the owner of the stationery shop, Aoyama, has been forced to close the shop because his wife has found out that she can sell the ink to other stationery stores for a higher price than the original cost. Aotagi tells us that he has a guest list for the 30th anniversary party of Hayashida's diet service, and that he hasn't yet received an invitation. He says that he doesn't know who the guest list is, but that it seems to be the man who is trying to ruin his wife's career.
