In this chapter, the narrator reflects on the changes that have taken place in his life. He realizes that he has changed a great deal in the past few years, and that the apparel industry has undergone a "rebirth" in the last few years. He is amazed at the beauty and diversity of the women in the store, and he decides that he will try on some of the new clothes that are on display. He tells himself that the store is "so, so, so great ! . . and i'll try it on" . He then goes on to praise the store's manager, who he thinks is a "bastard stagger stagger" , and the "casual line" of clothing that is also on display .
