She's afraid that if no one orders from her samples, she'll be forced to close the shop. Chieko tells her mother that she's planning a culture festival, but Chieko doesn't believe her. She says that if the deed to the shop has been lost, a notary needs to create a document proving the owner's identity, and then the notary has to file the document with the legal authorities. She tells Chieko that she can't do this today, since the company president isn't there, but she promises to do better next time.
