The next morning, the Governess learns that her sister-in-law, Anna, has arrived at the shooting range. She has come to see if she can be of assistance to her brother, who is in love with a young woman named amanda. The Governess is shocked to learn that Anna is an orphan and that the girl is trying to break up the relationship between her brother and leo. She also learns that Anna has threatened to kill leo if he does not break off the relationship with his sister.
