In this chapter, the protagonist's aunt, Miss Green, tells her husband, Leonard, that everything she does is just. She tells him that if he doesn't tell the truth, he'll be arrested and jailed for five years. Leonard tells her that she can either make the whole thing public on the web or he can send her to the police. He says that he knows sherry asked him to do it because he wants evidence. He tells her to tell him what he's looking for today, but she can't because she's already been caught. She says that Leonard has installed surveillance cameras on the roof, and they were all caught. He'll lie and say that he was with sherry, but they've already found him. They need to find a man who used to be a neighbor of Candice's, and who was accused of plagiarizing a manuscript. They also need to get a handwriting sample from Leonard. They can use the handwriting sample to find out who wrote the manuscript. Finally, they need to figure out who fired Leonard from his job. He was her boss, and he fired her because she threatened to take his place. They're both vicious, she says, and she can put her daughter in prison for no reason.
