The Governess tells her daughter that she is her mother and that she has warned her not to hurt her. She tells her that it is illegal for her to do so, and she can sue her if she wants. She warns her daughter not to beat anyone, and tells her to find a lawyer so that she can visit her husband in jail. She says that she did not scare her daughter just now, and that no one likes a woman who beats people. She asks her daughter if she has finished peeling the walnut, and then asks her why she let her do it again. She wonders why she did it, and wonders if it is because she is afraid of him. She wants to see someone, and wants to know what is going on. She knows that the Governess and her daughter have come to see her husband, but she does not know why she has allowed her to peel the walnut. She guesses that the two of them have come because they want her to let her husband go to jail in order to have sex with him
