In this short scene, the two young lovers are caught up in a romantic daydream. The narrator asks the two of them to go for a walk together, and the two decide to do so. As they walk, the narrator muses that he wishes he were with a boy who was a friend of his will instead of a parent. He wonders how it is that the girl he loves is going to show up one day to deliver cakes at a party, and he wonders if she will show up at all. He also wonders why she is so cruel to the man she loves, and wonders if it is because she is the only one who can save the man. He wishes that he could live his own life, so that he would have the power to do whatever he wants. He asks if he can try on the dress she has made for him, and she says that it would look good on her. He then wonders if the man he loves has set all of this up, and if he knew it was going to happen. He thinks that the man who told him to go to the movies and touch all of his desires was the cinema god, and that he must have set it all up. He is shocked that he has gotten two of the men he loves to go on a date with him, but he thinks that it is for the best, because he likes the girl so much that he wants to change himself. He wants to take some pictures with the two men outside, and they decide to go out together, even though the narrator still has no idea what he is talking about
