After the first half is over, the captain asks the other players what they've been up to. He's pretty sure he can guess what they were up to, but he's not satisfied with how they played. He wants to know why they didn't say anything at the half-time break. The captain says that the coach, Futami San, just leaves the field, and that's why they're playing so poorly. He asks the captain to make sure that he hears what he has to say, and the captain tells him that he thinks the coach's attitude and foul mouth are to blame. He also tells the captain that he'll have to change the starting lineup a bit, because he wants as many of the players as possible to play against a top-eight team in the tournament. He says that this is just a scrim, and he wants to see how they do in the real game. He wonders how the game is going to play out, and wonders if they'll be able to take the field without yelling first. He whispers to himself, "piff god dammit, I'm going to score one!" The captain tells himself that if he gets tackled, the opposing team sends someone else to steal the pass. The quicker the sweeper sweeps the ball, the faster the other team will pass it to him. He tells himself this is a perfect job for him, because the sweeper can get down to the other side of the field as quickly as anyone else. He laughs at the captain's suggestion that the team might take down a team ranked in the top eight of the tournament, and says, "Are you kidding me?"
