Captain duvall and the rest of the company head to the reptile outpost, where they'll try to find a few more soldiers who've been killed or seriously injured in the fighting. Captain Duvall tells the men to calm down, because half the company is seriously wounded or missing. Captain duVall tells them that they can't just find one soldier, because they've got to find all the other soldiers in the company as well. He's surprised that the company commander, Benet, and the first lieutenant, Winfred, aren't involved in the search for the missing company commander. When Captain duVall realizes that he's been keeping him in check, he tells him to take a nap. He also tells her that she'll have to stay up all night to check on his wounds. He tells her to just brush her wounds and go to sleep.
