The next morning, the two men are in the shower together, and the officer tells the man that he's going to be put in a firing squad and the sergeant is going to kill him for not keeping an eye on him. The officer says he'd rather be killed in battle than be raped. He's tired, he says, and he'll wash up and get ready to go to bed. He doesn't want to be accused of anything, he just wants to get out of the shower. He says that if the women find out that he hurt an officer, they're going to have to court martial him, and if they find that he injured a civilian, they might have to convict him on a "non-judicial" basis. He tells the woman to touch his arm as well, but if she gets scars, he has to take responsibility for it. He asks the woman if she's seen him naked before, and she says that she was. He tries to get her to stop, but she won't let him, so he tells her to cover herself with a towel, and they'll see each other naked again. The two men argue about whether or not he said anything to hurt her feelings, and when he says that he thought she was being raped, she rejects him right away. The smell of his cologne makes the smell even worse, so the two of them have to say their goodbyes.
