Lanyu explains that his mission was to rescue the leader of the sect. The leader also left, but when he had no money, he told Lanyu that his real mission would be to return home within ten days. Lanyu tells us that it took him five days to get to the battleship, and he had only two days to find his way to it. He explains that he was anxious and helpless, but he had one option: he could use the battleship that the sect took him to. He had to buy self defense equipment, and make plans before the leader showed up, so he fought to protect himself. After overcoming life and death situations, he tells us, he kept going. He asks why he took the battleship. He still doesn't admit that he's a spy, but now he realizes why everyone is mad at him. He says that the battleship belongs to the sect because they have spies on evil planet, and the evil planet has spies on theirs too. He also says that he helped the sect hide the battleship first, which seems unfair to him, since he held a senior hostage. He tells the group that he wanted them to calm down first before they could talk, but they didn't answer his call.
