In this chapter, we're introduced to a new character, a young man named Yin tianfan, who is a student at the Luo Academy. We learn that he's an excellent fighter, and he'd like to be an apprentice to his master, the vice-dean of heaven academy. He wants to learn soul skills, ancient martial arts, and piloting a space ship. He's also a little obsessed with the elusive fox, so he asks his master to take him as his disciple. He tells his master not to mention the fox's name out in the open, but to just call him teacher. He also tells him not to tell anyone that he is his disciple, since that's all his business. He says that, given his "glorious history," he assumes that his student will be able to learn things out of the chaos in the maze. The two men head off to the simulation cabin, where they'll learn how to fight in the real world.
