He wonders if he can use his power of bloodline to absorb both life energy and soul energy. He uses the rays of sunlight to restore his bloodline power, and then uses the soul power of the black insignia to transform the life energy back into his soul power. This is a shortcut, he says, to cultivating. He explains that the school rules state that he must become a battle armor master within two years, or else he will have to leave Shresh. To enter the inner court of the shresh, he must be a three-word warrior.
