The next morning, Gu and Ching prepare to leave for the Lunar New Year, and Ching tells his father to open the door so that they can see each other. He tells Ching that he wants to show him the documentary he has just made, which he hopes will be of interest to Ching's parents. Ching says that he and Ching are not like boyfriend and girlfriend, but rather, they are both men. He says that his parents are in America, and that his family background is "average" and that it is embarrassing to take Ching home. He asks his mother to call him, but she answers the phone quickly, and he tells her that he would like to bring Ching home for the new year.
