In this short scene, we learn that the two young men, Cai Ming and Qiu Hai, have been invited to the school as guest judges for an upcoming performance of an actor. Cai Ming asks to see the young men first, explaining that he is here to support his friend, who is also a guest judge. The young men tell Cai Ming that they have arranged a room for them, and Cai Ming says that he has done some research, and that none of them are "big names" and that their performance will be "smooth ride." Cai Ming, however, is not so sure. He says that the young man, who has been acting under Cai Ming's supervision, is crying over his dead brother like a "little girl," and that his performance is not as good as that of his older brother. He asks how he can improve his performance, and he says that acting on stage is different from acting on the big screen, because the audience will not be able to "feel" the sorrow within their hearts. He adds that he will use all of his talent on the stage, but he will only use 7/10 of his ability on the screen. The two men agree that they are "just steppingstones," and they need to prove their ability.
