The next morning, the police arrive at the apartment and arrest Ming for his role in the murder. Ming tells them that he is innocent and that he will not be harmed. He says that his father is leaving for China soon, and Ming will be gone for a few days. Ming asks the police officer if he is allowed to be angry, and the officer replies that Ming is not allowed to do so. Ming says that if it had not been for his brother, none of this would have happened. He tells the police station that he would not be where he is today if it weren't for him. He compares Ming's appearance to that of a concubine before she committed suicide, and he says that only his brother protects him and treats him well. The police officer says that Ming has the right to protect him, but Ming is old-fashioned, short, and doesn't have any right to compare himself to Ming. He asks Ming to come to his protection squad and tell him what good points he has.
