Three days later, Rouncewell is on his way down the mountain with his master. He tells his master not to get too excited because he's about to face an "unbeatable opponent" . The two of them head off to the city of Cangzhou, the capital of the "ding kingdom" , where they'll find a place to chill out before the big battle begins. The girl is horrified to find that she's being taken to a place where she'll be sucked into the "hehuan sect" of the demon trisect. She's also terrified of the female practitioners of the hehuan sect because they'd be locked up in the "dungeons" and transformed into nymph-like beings. She asks the girl's master if he'd like her to come with him. The master tells her that she looks like a "practitioner of the righteous" and a "demonic practitioner" and that they're both "peculiar beings." The girl wonders who has the right to come and talk with her.
