The chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the book, where the Master explains that he has reached the "foundation building stage" and that he wants to destroy all of the demon cultivators in his path. He tells the Master not to take the book back because he will ask the Master to borrow it later. The Master says that he will wait for him at the Inn and then he will find the cultivators and kill them. He is glad that the Master does not have to worry about the foundation building part of his mind. He feels that he is treating himself like an immortal and ignoring the suffering of the mortal world. He wonders why the Master is not concerned about the disasters in the world. It seems that even the Master's gatekeepers are in the stage of foundation building. He also wonders why it is so easy for the King to set up a huge array to cover his entire mansion.
