The chapter opens with a soliloquy by Hiroshige, in which he tells the reader that he has found a place for "gay devils" . He tells us that he's made some friends, but that it's not always easy to find someone who loves him. He wonders what's going on with ushio, and wonders if he'll be able to find a place where he can die. He also tells us about the individual super-vision, which is supposed to guard against the worst-case scenario. He says that they've already prepared for it, and that they don't trust the prison system. He asks if there's anything he can do to help, and says that he won't do anything to help. He then asks if you'd mind him joining the team, and he says he'd like him to join them to take a "goal." He also says that the fight is not over in Japan and that the project is lagging behind in other countries. He wants to know if you have any progress with Sawazaki, and asks if she's had any success with him. She says that she hasn't, but she did have a lot of fun at the feast bay. She asks if he wants to go home, and she says that's fine. She tells him that she is getting plastic surgery and that she wants him to come with her. She also tells him about her cross, and tells him to keep it tied up if he doesn't like it.
