In this chapter, we meet Richard again, this time in a sub-urban clinic in a country called the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He tells us that the country is in the middle of a civil war, and that the cia, the enemy, is trying to capture "devils" . Richard tells us about the battle that took place in the city of Darnay, where eka was the leader. The cia hired a bunch of mercenaries to help defend the city, and the fighting broke out. Richard and the other doctors return to Darnay to find that eka has been sleeping for three days. They're worried that the town might fall prey to the devils, but they don't know what to do.
