The next morning, Hiroshi tells the others that Kikuhara has run away from the hospital. He asks them to take him to the nearest hospital, Shrease, but they refuse, saying that it is too dangerous to go there. He tells them to go to lunch, smoke a cigarette, and keep an eye on Kyoko. He says that the doctor has told him that Kyoko is not going anywhere, and that she is not allowed to move on the upper floors of the hospital because "devils" are not allowed on those floors. He threatens to break her neck if they do not give him the keys to the car.
