Devils' Line

At the 17th Chizu House hold, the speaker is Kikuhara, a member of the public safety division of the Prefectural Police. He tells the group that his partner has fallen ill and that he has been trying to take care of her. He says that it is ironic that he would be ordered to do something like this, since he is a devil. He asks the group to forget about the incident and never visit his partner again. The speaker says that he is sorry that his mother was killed and that it looks like a suicide. He wants to protect society and protect devils, if he can. He adds that he still lives in the world, but he would like to make a program to list individual radios at the police division so that they can be picked up. He also says that the cruisers and lances have been coming and going inquiring about the whereabouts of Anzai. He is afraid that he might show up and shoot him that day, so he wants to be sure that he gets the message from his partner. He then asks the police to let him go after Anzai, but they refuse to do so, saying that they are leaving him behind. He decides to read the news about the attack on the prime minister and the appointment of a minister of labor.
