This chapter opens with a conversation between xin and Roxane. xin tells Roxane that Renly is being investigated by the new government for using fake drugs to kill Roxane and for trying to destroy the government and the clan. He tells her that he cannot forgive Renly for what he did to her. She tells him to leave Renly in the hands of the New Government. .
