The next morning, Roxane and Roxane's maid, sen nai, come to the door of the house where Roxane is staying. Roxane tells Roxane that she's a candidate for an eldership in the blood clan, but that she doesn't have the family crest to be a candidate. She asks Roxane to come with her to the party, but Roxane won't let her in, saying that it's illegal for a candidate to have a family crest at the party. She also tells him that Roxane tried to help him in the lobby, but it didn't work out. When Roxane asks if Roxane has found her family crest, he says that he did, and that he'll return it to Roxane. He also tells her that he has no worries about her, because he's not worried about her. He tells her to stay away from him, and then he tells her about the vampire who tried to trick him into thinking that he was a human. He says that the vampire is a "swooper" , which means that he pretended to be human to trick Roxane into believing that he is a vampire. He explains that he moved to the city to run for a position as an elder. He blames Roxane for the whole thing, because she tried to set Roxane up, but she put the blame on him.
