In this chapter, we learn that the "cross" that roy abandoned under the valley was discovered by a scout during the search for his brother. The two families have already agreed to a truce, and now it's time for roy to ask his father for a favor. He asks his father not to tell anyone about how he became a vampire. He also asks him not to mention that he was a vampire back in the day. Aww, that's kind of creepy, right there. Ooh, dad, thanks for rescuing me. Oh, and thanks for being such a nice guy. He tells his father that he's going to dance with someone tonight, and that he wants to make sure that everyone around him is happy. He's a bit drunk, but he'll dance anyway. He wants to be sure that his father's happiness is secure. He doesn't want to disappoint his father, so he asks if he can have a partner for the dance, and he gets a bit disappointed when his hair is cut short. He says that he misses the look when he lets his hair down, which is kind of lame. He promises to take his father to a place where he can be happy.
