When Yon and Sir Walter arrive at the hotel, they are surprised to find that they have been upgraded to a presidential suite. Sir Walter, however, is not satisfied with the treatment he has received. He feels that Yon's group should have been given a higher rank, and that the hotel should have paid more attention to their needs. He also feels that they should have asked the manager to recognize him earlier in the day, when he was at work. He is suspicious of the manager's intentions, but he is confident that he will be able to save the group. When Yon tells Sir Walter that he loves ice cream, he explains that his mother rarely let him eat it, but she would buy him one every time she visited the aquarium. He says that the marine life gave him the courage to "live on" after his mother's death, and he is grateful that he met Sir Walter so late. He praises the hotel's food, which is so good that he is full. He asks the waiter to show him ice cream before they leave, and the waiter makes it for him. He thanks Sir Walter for making him so happy
