In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character, the "mountain auntie" . She is the mother of a young man named Sese, who has just returned from a marriage. Sese's mother is upset that Sese is not old enough to be her son's guardian, and she wants him to stay with her instead of going back to school. The "auntie" tells Sese that he can stay one night at her house, but he should not, because she is so young and lonely. She tells him that she will make his rooms for him, and that she has a "cute girl" whom she can play with. She also tells him to bring all of his presents to his house when he goes away, so that he will not be able to touch her. She says that if he comes to her house at night, she will have him in her palm, and if he does not, he should ask her if she has any other way to be a modern mother. She asks Sese if he has a baby soon, and he says that he would like to have one soon too. She adds that he must have been raised by a mother like her, because he is immune to the seductions of women like her
