The narrator informs us that this story is "purely fictitious" and that no resemblances are made between the events of the story and real people or places. Se says that he was wrong about his dance and that he will be jealous of other mens appearance. He says that as the heir of the Fu family, he has to learn everything and that if he likes, he will play the piano again. Se gets into the house and finds that the power has gone out and the lights have not come back on. He goes to get the candles and medical kit and finds a corpse in the maids room. Se tells the narrator that the maid has a weird collection of hobbies and that she would turn the house into a haunted house if he did not go out with her. Se decides to go and see the haunted house the next time he gets married.
