In this chapter, we are introduced to the young heiress, Sophie, and her fiance, Sebastian, who have just returned from a trip to Europe. The two of them are in the middle of eating dinner at a restaurant near Sophie's school, when Sebastian asks Sophie if she is uncomfortable at the restaurant. Sophie replies that she is not, and that she used to go to the restaurant with her friend xiaoxio when they were on the university campus, and she knows that the place is very different from the rest of the world. She tells Sebastian that he is not as important to her as the chicken wings and the hundred lamb skewers that she has prepared for him. She also tells him that she would like to go on a date with him, but that she does not have the energy to do so. When Sebastian refuses to eat, she tells him to come with her to the hotel where her father is waiting to meet her. Sebastian tells her that his father has come all the way from Europe to see her, and he wants to come and meet her too.
