He wonders what is going on with Mina and wonders if she is in love with him. He also wonders if he should be worried about his brother-in-law, whom he calls "Jiro" because he is so "cool" that he is able to "disap peared" by her rejection of him. The narrator sighs that it is still his birthday, and he wishes that he could sit next to his daughter. He asks her if she would like to be next to him, and she replies that she would "cone to ah" , indicating that she does not want to be near him. She then asks him if he will lock the door for 30 minutes so that she can go to the bathhouse, where she is sure to find her family
