About This Chapter
The three of them go to the train station to meet up with Arata, who works at a book store. Arata's voice is "deeper" than theirs, and they're worried that he won't be able to take them on a trip to Fukui because of it. They're also worried that Arata has a wife who turns down all of his offers of marriage, and that he doesn't enjoy being around her. The three decide to take a cab, and Arata thanks them profusely for their help. She says that she's been working at the store all day, and she'll be arriving in time to meet Arata at the station. She gives them a present from Tokyo: a set of new clothes for Arata to wear in her changing room. She's worried that they'll run out of things to wear, but Arata insists that they just have to hurry up and get it all done. She also tells them that she used to practice playing the game of karuta with them all the time, but that she can't anymore because her grandfather is "an amazing person" .
