The chapter opens with a soliloquy by Hiroshi Sakurai in which he laments the fact that there are people who believe that results are more important than effort. He laments that some people do not believe in the importance of hard work and that they do not realize that it is only through hard work that one can achieve success. He says that he has come to congratulate Hiroshi on his success in the school trip, and that he hopes that he will be successful in the upcoming Master and Queen match. He also expresses his hope that the people who do not know him will be able to see him as beautiful as he is. The chapter ends with Hiroshi exclaiming that he would like to become a teacher or a teacher's aide. He does not want to be a queen, he says, but he wants to be like a teacher, an uchi advisor, or a sensei . He asks Hiroshi if he is right to think that he belongs to no one. Hiroshi replies that he does not belong to anyone, and he will work hard to be another queen next year. He is interrupted by the teacher, who tells him that his friend, Hiroshi's teacher, has fallen ill with a fever.
