About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the novel, when the narrator explains that the events of the previous chapter were the result of a series of events that took place over the course of a few days. The events of this chapter are as follows: the narrator tells us that he is the hero of the story, and that he has done all he can to protect his family from the evil of the evildoers. He tells the audience that he wants to prove that he can be a hero, and he asks the audience to believe him. The narrator then tells us about his father, and how he was raised to be loyal to his family, even after his father's death. He says that his father was like a father to him, and the only difference between him and his father is that he was born into a family that was loyal to their father, not to his own father.
