The next morning, Frankenstein wakes up and realizes that everything has ended. He wants to kill his friend, but he can't because he's a busybody, and he doesn't want to be a burden to his family. He tells himself that his purpose in life is to kill the guy who treated him like a friend. He says that if he hadn't met him, everything would have been different. He hates rainy days, but today's is different because it's the first day that everything will end. He feels contempt for his friend because he looks like a "genius" and a "nobody." He feels bad for the guy because he knows that the future is bleak. He asks himself what if he were trying to kill a guy just to get his kid's ability? After all, killing a guy like that isn't as easy as it sounds. So, he goes with the flow. He convinces the old man that killing his daughter is the best way to lure him into killing his son-in-law. After that, the plan starts to work. The old man agrees to the plan. He still wants to get rid of his daughter's abilities. He presses the box beside him.
