In this chapter, we learn that the students in year two class four are competing for the affections of the girls in year three class four. We learn that one of the students, Wu huang, does not want to win, but he does want to chase after the girls. He wants to show off his skills, and he wants to win the girls' affections. This is the reason why he is able to beat the other students in the first round of the competition. He also tells us that he is certain that he can beat the teacher in the second round. He tells the students that they must win the competition this time, although the teacher did not say so. He says that they will be better than the teacher if they lose, but that he has always hoped that the class could work together to face their college exams and graduation. He then tells the story of how, overnight, he became the hero of the class. He explains that he was just someone who kept a low profile, and that he looks handsome. He wonders if he likes the kind of girl that he likes, and wonders what kind of a girl he likes. He adds that if the class loses, he will be able to figure out a way to rid himself of the fat pig. He knows that there are people outside of the school who will not allow him to break their arm or leg. He will never allow Panlos to ruin his plan
