About This Chapter
Back at school, Joey teases Miss Rouncewell about how she's entered the "monitoring zone" , which means that everyone is watching her. Joey tells her that she can go home, but she has to return immediately to her old school. He's not happy about that, but he's also happy about the fact that Luke escaped from his dad's clutches. He tells Joey that if he hadn't gone to school, he wouldn't have threatened his dad with Luke's threat. He asks Joey not to kill Luke, because if he dies today, he'll still be killed in the end by someone else. He adds that if Luke doesn't get killed today, then he will still get killed by someone in the future. This is Joey's response to his father's question about the "main plot" of his story. He says that the reason why he has so many powers is because he is the "female lead" of the world. He wants to know why the creator of this world designed his story so that he would have so many people with so many different powers. He also says that he knows more than 100 people who have more powers than him, and that's why they're more worthy than him as the "male lead" . He begs Joey to take back her powers back, and says that if she can use her as a shield one more time, she'll do it
