About This Chapter
Leaving the class, the narrator laments that he cannot save the letters he has written. He blames the class leader, Luke Ling, for all of the problems. He says that if he had written 800 letters, he would still be unable to save them. He tells the class that he will bring them to a hotpot lunch in two days. The narrator says that he picked the lock on the teacher's office because he remembers the incident with the yellow-haired kid. He adds that he has a plan to fight back against anyone who provokes him. He reminds the class of the time when he was fighting with the kid who had the yellow hair. If someone called his parents, he says, aunt zhao would not be in trouble. So, he started collecting dirt on everyone in the school. Even if he cannot control his temper, he still plans to use the dirt to fight anyone who tries to provoke him. Luke Ling tells the narrator that he is just a "social trash" with no power or money. There is only one person in the entire class who got "full marks" in the class. He asks the class to learn from the fat pig. The fat pig says he does not deserve to be with the class because he doesn't have money or power. As long as he changes his attendance records, he'll be expelled. The class leader says that the names on the list are just corruption, but the narrator points out that it's not just corruption. It's corruption and bribery that makes the list of names
