About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that Panlos sent the kid because he knows that Shmoop's "tyrant personality" is a big problem for the company. He also knows that the company's spies have been leaking information about the company to the outside world. Panlos sends the kid out to solve the problem, because he's the only one who can solve it for the sake of the company, Shmoops says. Shmops says that he can't forget the threat he made, but he'll make sure to destroy all the people in the world who care about him if he ever gets in trouble. He apologizes, saying that he was too young to threaten him, and that he planned to use Panlos's identity to crush the company from within, but the threat from the kid ended up being too much for him to handle. He's glad that he didn't have to deal with the kid, because the kid is a "true villain" and needs to be killed.
