This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between Lin and Ling. Lin asks Ling why he didn't tell him earlier about his plan to kill Beiyuan. Lin says that he's not here to kill Lin, but to talk with him. Lin explains that his special bullet will fake Lin's death, and Lin can experiment with it as he wishes. Lin then tells Ling that he has some more details to tell him. He says that Lin is the "superpower user" , and that Lin will kill him if Lin tells him that Lin might die. Lin will then have to tell Lin that Lin has planned to kill him in order to save Lin. Lin is sure that Lin won't be able to fight Lin because Lin is "stubborn at heart" .
