The fox fairy tells the prince of the Huns that if he gives birth to a child who is the offspring of god and man, that child will rule the steppe. The prince says that the fox fairy is the personification of the "feudal superstition" that harms people. He tells her that if she tries to force herself on him, he will "bring disaster to thehuns" . She tells him to look at the paintings of her aunt's third niece and the painter's eldest brother. She compares them to snakes and tells him that he will have to give birth to snakes if he wants to protect his daughter. She says that she will go out for her if she can accept the monsters calling her father.
