About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's going to use the Emperor's body "as a host" . He's not going to stop worrying about the political situation in the seven kingdoms. He thinks that once he becomes the new emperor, he'll be able to do whatever he wants with the old emperor's soul. He doesn't think that the old man will ever come out of his hiding place, but he does think that once the opportunity comes, he can do anything he wants. He says that he can use the old guy's "primal soul" to take action against the evil god Su, who's in the middle of the Seven Kingdoms. He also says that the world is going to be in turmoil as a result of the conflict between the hun and the qin , and he can't wait to see what happens. The narrator says that nan ping, who has been staying at the palace for the past ten years, is now "like a solitary . . reclusive . and noble .taoist" , which means that he has been avoiding the politics of the world and has been living a life of seclusion and meditation. He adds that the reason that he stayed away from politics was because he was afraid of heights, and that's why he brought nanping to the highest mountain in the palace. Aww, how could he have gotten down that mountain without the help of the emperor? The narrator is all, "what an unreliable man!" .
